You have to clean up after them as well though, and they do squeak a fair bit. But they are cute and small and loveable. Maybe I should wait until we move to a bigger place, the whole kitty litter thing makes me want to vom just thinking about it...

Maybe I should get a fish, but my track record with fish isn't very good. We've had frogs, birds and mice brought home as "presents" and have had to clean up cat vomit on more than one occasion.

If you have a cat in a flat you will definitely have to deal with kitty litter, something that has made my husband retch in the past. It's not pleasant.

But - they are still very loveable and low maintenance compared to other pets like dogs. I think having a pet is good for your health:)

Perhaps you could find a breed of cat that suits living in a flat - eg a siamese would probably go crazy but a more relaxed/less agile breed like a himalayan might be fine.

You could try the RSPCA - they have plenty of cats looking for homes and might be able to recommend one that suits your situation.

Sorry that's a bit of a long comment - I come from a family of cat people!Alisonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05308587797899833400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7111763072286562558.post-20953796518930636132007-04-26T12:34:00.000+10:002007-04-26T12:34:00.000+10:00If you leave cats out at night, they go hunting, a...If you leave cats out at night, they go hunting, and bring back dead things.

They get sick; they get old; you have to get them looked after when you travel.

It's a bit like having a kid, I suppose.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7111763072286562558.post-76234488380632740142007-04-26T10:00:00.000+10:002007-04-26T10:00:00.000+10:00my cat in England DRIBBLES ALL THE TIME.
