can you say babymoon?

I can.....BABYMOON!

This Sunday SP and I are going on holiday for 7 nights to Dunk Island and I can't wait. I am almost asleep standing up I am that tired and in need of a good break, growing a baby isn't easy you know ;)

It's only a small island so there isn't too much to do which suits me just fine. We thought now would be a great time for a holiday - not too big so not too uncomfortable! I still can't believe we are going, I don't think I will until I am on the plane!

There will be plenty of relaxing on the beach (weather permitting), lots of reading, massages, swimming in the pool, maybe some tennis, SP and I time, relaxing, movies and that 'not too strenuous' kind of thing! BRING IT ON!

The only downside for me is the small plane trip we have to take from Cairns to Dunk Island, please pray for me as I am a little nervous about it. I am sure it will be great and the views will be magnificent but I am still a little bit apprehensive and prayers would be appreciated.

I really pray that this would be a relaxing break for SP and I to enjoy some time together before our little one arrives ;)

please pray

Tomorrow we have our 19 week ultrasound where they get to check if everything is growing at the right speed in the right place etc. It's a half an hour to an hour scan so we should get to see quite a bit of our little one!

I am really excited to see little squiggly again - please pray for us tomorrow, our appointment is at 10.30am.

Will let you all know how it goes!

baby moving

In the past week I have started to feel the baby moving. It's mainly when I am lying down and still.

At first I wasn't sure if it was the baby but it seems that now either in the morning, when I am lying on the sofa or in bed at night I can feel the same sensations of little flutters and even in a week I have started to notice the movements more and more - who knows what they are up to in there but it is very very awesome!

I hear that it doesn't take long once you feel the baby move a little for that to turn into full on kicks!

We go for our 19 week scan on Thursday, I am both excited and a little nervous, praying that all is well with the little one. God has already decided what will become of this little one so we have to trust him and whatever he has planned for us.

We will be finding out if we are having a boy or girl but we are not sure yet if we are going to be telling anyone the sex or keeping it as our little secret. Please pray for us if it comes to mind for Thursday.

the west wing

OK so I am a bit behind, like almost 10 years - 1999 is when the first series of The West Wing was aired, but hey better late than never right?!?

I had been wanting to watch The West Wing for ages as people at work and friends had talked about it being really good. SP and I had decided we needed another series to get into so yesterday when we were in JB Hi Fi I saw a special, buy 2 series get 1 free. Hoorah, I love deals.

So we got the first 3 series to watch, SP wasn't sure at first as he hadn't heard as much about it as me but after watching the first 4 episodes he likes it - Phew!

I will let you know how we go but so far I am loving the humour and I can only imagine it will get better and better as you get to 'know' the characters more.

the dark knight

Couldn't wait to see it. Saw it. Loved it. Thought the Joker was awesome. Looking forward to the next one!

dinner with ruth, 'e' and kym

Tonight I am having dinner with the lovely Ruth and the equally lovely Kym, it has been far too long since I last saw Ruth and I can't wait to see my little god-daughter elect 'e', I am sure she has grown so much since I last saw her.

I am also getting a special treat by seeing the whole of Ruth's family on Saturday - I will be taking my camera to snap away as it has been so long. So stay posted for pictures.

I love catching up with friends, it is going to be a lovely evening together.

Bring on the pasta!

my blog in words

I found Wordle through Tracy and Kristina - cool idea!

did anyone else watch WIPEOUT?

Last night at 7.30pm on Channel 9 there was a new American show called WIPEOUT, I had seen the ads and thought it looked like my kind of 'funny', so SP and I decided to tune in to see what it was like.

I can say I haven't laughed like that for I don't know how long. The 'belly hurting, tears in your eyes, I can't stop laughing' laugh!

The obstacle course is hysterical and the people who 'chose' to do them are even funnier and just when you thought it couldn't get any funnier you have the 2 commentators - who just cracked me up.

So if you are after some mind-numbing fun or you need cheering up on a Tuesday night, get your Tena ladies ready and flick on WIPEOUT!

I have included the first part of the show below, you can watch the rest of it on YouTube too ;) Enjoy!

le bump 1 - 16 weeks

They aren't great as I took them on my computer but as I am soooo hopeless about getting SP to take pics, this will have to do for now. I promise I will try and remember to get more pics soon!

I had my appointment (my very short appt) yesterday, nothing much to report. She weighed me, she felt my tummy and told me all seemed to be growing OK and then the best bit was we got to listen to the heartbeat - we hadn't heard it before so that was worth the visit, she found the heartbeat really quickly and Squiggly's heart was a beating nice and fast VERY.COOL! , then she moved the machine so she could hear mine, not beating quite as fast and NOT.AS.COOL but still, it's always good to know your heart is beating right?

Happy Friday!

your wisdom please!

I was wondering if you might be able to help me. I am wanting to buy a parenting book or two in the next few months and have NO IDEA where to begin. I have heard of a couple but I am still none the wiser about which to get.

If all you wonderful Mummy's and Daddy's (even if you are not yet a Mummy or Daddy but know of any books let me know) out there have any books that you have found particularly helpful or if you have heard of any that you think might be worth reading then please comment which book it is and why you personally found it helpful or why you think it might be helpful, etc.

I just want a bit of guidance, I have a while yet so I am in no huge rush!

Thanks to you all, my personally brains trust!
