Here are some pictures we took tonight of the lunar eclipse - it was really cool ;) Won't be happening again until Dec 2011, but I guess that isn't too far away!

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:3-4

Nice photos. It certainly was an amazing sight.
What camera did you use? Lens?
I am about to buy either a Nikon D80 or D200 and am tossing up on whether to get the VR (vibration reduction) lens.
My little point and shoot was not up to the task last night.
Hey Lucy we used a Canon 300D, Digital SLR and I had a 75-300 lenses on. SP took them, they came out well... I heard about the vibration lens we didn't get one, which meant we had use a tripod last night as they were coming out blurry just holding the camera!!
sweet shots.
I'm assuming that this must be something that could be observed in the southern hemisphere only....or else I totally missed hearing about it.
Nice pictures.
Yep Southern Hemisphere only Priscilla - you didn't miss it ;)
I think even with the VR you would have needed a tripod to photograph the moon. Check out my effort on my blog! Bring on the new camera.
I have decided to get the D80 with the two package lenses plus the VR plus the tripod all in one hit.
Oh yeah, and a video camera too.
I got some $$$ when my grandmother died and I am finally brave enough to make a choice on which camera I want.
That's too cool Lucy - I will look forward to seeing your shots with the new camera!!!
I am looking forward to going to NZ and using our camera!!!
Great photos, Nixter, I'm impressed!
It was actually SP who took them, but you can still be impressed ;)
