pet hate....

.....maybe I will say 'pet-dislike' instead, as 'hate' maybe a strong word but man does it bug me.

What bugs Nixter that much you may ask... well a few things but this one in particular gets me annoyed very quickly.

(rant begins)
Bad customer service....... It frustrates me, makes me lose my patience quickly and also causes me to wonder how some of these people get jobs?!?!?!

I have had a few situations lately where I have been into a shop with what I think is a fairly simple request and it has turned into me waiting and waiting getting passed to 2 or 3 different people to be told an answer they could have told me within a few seconds or for the person to not really know the answer at all... Grrrrrrrrr.

I know working in customer services is not easy, I started working in customer service when I was 16 and worked my way up to management all in a retail environment and it can be hard work but really I do wonder sometimes...

It is easy to say a simple thank-you at the end of serving someone but at our local supermarket that seems to be a problem...

I suppose you never really know what kind of a day someone is having but still, to say please and thank you is not too much to ask is it?
(rant ends!)

What are your pet 'dislikes'?

I find that annoying too, it gets me in a big huff which is usually a total overreaction.

My pet dislike at the moment is people who sit next to me on the train, totally ignoring my subtle signals that I don't want them to, like leaving a bag on the spare seat or reading the Herald (which is not comfortable to read when you've only got one seat!) Of course I know the other people need to sit down as well and I wouldn't leave them standing in the aisles, but sometimes there are other seats available and I wish they would pick them instead. Man, do I sound like a grumpy commuter or what?;)

I hear you, I know I totally over react to the customer service thing. It's funny how different things trigger us off isn't it.

how funny, alison as I was reading the post I was thinking my pet hate is people leaving bags on the seat of trains! but I hate that when the train is crowded and they deprive people of seats - I don't think that's you:)

I dislike bad manners on the train, which include:
*guys who make beeline for spare seat without offering it to pregnant, elderly ladies (or any lady, but maybe that's asking too much)
*people with their ipods turned up so loud everyone can hear the "doof doof" techno beat
*people who insist on sitting on the end seat closest to the aisle, then make you climb over them to get into a seat rather than just shuffling down??
*people who stand in the doorway at cnetral station when the train comes, not letting people get off the train past...

I could go on!

Public transport is full of opportunities to offend - if I ever see you on a train Soph, I promise I will move my bag! I agree that people who hog seats when it's crowded are not being very polite. And I know what you mean about the ipods up too loud, it's like water torture being stuck next to someone blasting it out.

I was on the bus the other day and there was a guy with his daughter who had one of those electronic games that talks to you - she played it ALL the way to my house. I put my iPod on and turned it up - sorry ladies but it was a desperate situation...
