nixter is......

trying to kick her 'one muffin a day' habit.

Any suggestions for a healthy alternative that will fill me up as I am starving!

apples and oranges just don't seem to fill me up!

I think I am having muffin withdrawals!

how about yogurt or fruit and nut mix?

or low fat muffins?

Yogurt and the fruit n nut mix (not fruit and nut chocolate ;) sounds like a grand idea. Might go and see if I can get some on my lunch. Just something to nibble on til my body gets used to my muffin withdrawal!

Low fat muffins = nice - thanks for the suggestions!

I mix pears, apples, strawberries and almonds with low fat strawberry yoghurt - yum and healthy!

and if I'm feeling like a treat, I'll add nutrigrain or crunchy nut cornflakes, some really sugary cereal!

Soph - that does sound yum indeed. Esp with the sugary cereal ;)

Thanks for a great idea!

I find bananas more filling than apples or oranges. Yoghurt with fruit is also good. I like low-fat natural Greek yoghurt with banana, strawberries, mango and pears, with perhaps a little brown sugar to sweeten it!

English muffins with peanut butter and honey are extremely tasty, but perhaps not healthier than sweet muffins!

Freddo frogs are good. And because they are frogs they are healthy - lots of protein.

Goldy - you crack me up!

try adding some protein to your snack to help it last longer. low fat cheese or a bit of peanut butter with the fruit. The protein makes the carbs digest more slowly.
