the harry potter dilemma continues......

..... with 12 days to go until the 7th Harry Potter book comes out it is apparent that there is NO WAY I am going to finish reading the two thirds of the 4th book and the mammoth 5th and 6th book by then - unless I quit my job and don't sleep for 12 days. I mean I do love Harry Potter but not that much ;)

So I have a choice, to finish reading the books in sequence and then read the 7th book once I am done. Or to just stop where I am once the 7th book comes out and start reading that, but after a conversation with a guy who works in my office about book 6 I realise I hardly remember it - OH NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, he also told me that is would be awful if someone told me what happened before I read it....

So anyhoo what to do what to do, I know in the scheme of things it's not the end of the world but I don't know what to do!

On a happy note I am hopefully going to watch the 5th movie with Ruth tomorrow night if we can get tickets - how fun!

Let me offer my 2 cents worth, seeing I'm facing the same dilemma.

I've been doing some serious power reading since we talked Nixter and I've only got 200 pages to go in book four now. I'm starting to think it might be possible to get through them all...

But, if I don't make it through them all in time there is NO WAY I'm not going to start number 7 the day it comes out - just think of how much everyone's going to be talking about it! Two problems - 1) you'll either have the story spoilt and 2) you'll miss out being able to talk about it with everyone. So there's ABSOLUTELY NO WAY I'm going to put off reading number 7.

However, you're also right about number 6 being foggy so I suggest you brush up on that. That's my plan - I'm going to keep trying to power through numbers 4 and 5 till Sunday (that's my deadline) and then wherever I'm up to by then I'm going to start number 6.

Hope that helps:)

Oh...and you're right - it's not the end of the world. Although with the planning I've put into it some might be mistaken into thinking it is for me...:)

Lairdy Lairdy Lairdy - I am glad I am NOT alone.. And I totally here you. I think I am going to just go hard core reading over the next week and see where I get too, I got a bit of the 4th book read over the last couple of days - am going to read some on my lunch too.. Might have to brush up like you suggest on book 6. Just keep plowing on!

No it isn't the end of the world but it's close ;)

No you are not alone Nixter!

I haven't reread ANY of the HP books, though Sam has been powering through 5. I read a page over his shoulder the other night and realised I'd forgotten so much of it. And I don't own them, my brothers do....so getting my hands on them is a hassle.

I think I'm going to just have to forgo being up-to-date and read them all again, then read Seven.

But by then, the whole world will know what happens and whether Snape is bad.....I will be so behind!!

So lairdy, don't spoil it for me...
